The end of the road 2/4 / La fin du parcours 2/4

Hop, we jump ahead to the year 2000. Neil is 55. A mellow, laid-back phase. He works hard, loses track of time, but the love that binds him to his wife never grows old. If that isn’t sweet!

I may sound like I’m making fun of him, but not at all. First of all, because Neil is the very first rung on my personal pantheon, but also, and above all, because some men know how to say simple, beautiful things without descending into melodrama or absurdity. Neil Young is one of them.

Silver & Gold, from the album of the same name (apparently his 25th studio album, which seems pretty wild, considering that the one released last month would be his 50th. I’m not entirely sure how they’re counting, but the guy would have released as many records after turning 55 as he did in his prime… Crazy.).

Hop, on saute à l’an 2000. Neil a 55 ans.

Fou.).
