And there you go—15 days after the single, here comes the album of the same name (and in between, the film of the same name!), an album you could easily see as the last of the early Beatles era, before things got serious, you know?

Among the great classics, you’ll find on this record the previously mentioned singles: Ticket to Ride and Help!, but also the very Dylanesque You’ve Got to Hide Your Love Away, and of course, one of the most covered songs in the world: Yesterday! A Paul number—need we remind you?

George’s tracks are a bit underwhelming; the song sung by Ringo, very country and western, leaves you choosing between I’ve Just Seen a Face—a hidden gem by Paul that he would revisit with Wings in the ’70s—Lennon on fire tearing through a Larry Williams cover, or the gorgeous You’re Going to Lose That Girl, a perfect slice of pure Beatles with those harmonies and John’s voice…
