XTC, hiding behind the pseudonym Dukes of Stratosphear, undoubtedly delivered one of the most perfect pastiches of the Beach Boys’ Pet Sounds / Smile era — namely the track Pale and Precious.

But on their more, let’s say, official albums, you can also find some beautiful tracks that unmistakably bear the XTC stamp while still showing a Wilsonian influence — like this song that closes the Oranges & Lemons album in 1989.
